How to setup AnyCamera as RTMP streamer

Updated: Dec 30, 2024

Hello, streamers! If you’re using AnyCamera to share your live content on YouTube, we’ve got you covered. This guide will show you how to configure AnyCamera with YouTube Live, including combining your RTMP URL and Stream Key for a smooth streaming experience. Let’s get started!

What is the Combined RTMP Address?

For AnyCamera, the RTMP address combines:

1. RTMP URL: The server address provided by YouTube.

2. Stream Key: Your unique identifier for directing the stream to your channel.

The final address looks like this:

Step 1: Access the YouTube Live Control Room

1. Sign in to YouTube Studio

Visit YouTube Studio and log in to your account.

2. Navigate to the Live Control Room

On the left menu, click Create (camera icon with a “+”) and select Go Live.

Step 2: Set Up Your Live Stream

1. Create a New Stream

In the Live Control Room, select Stream from the top navigation bar. You can reuse an existing stream or create a new one.

2. Fill Out Stream Details

Add a title, description, and privacy settings (Public, Unlisted, or Private). Schedule the stream if needed.

Step 3: Get Your YouTube RTMP URL and Stream Key

1. Find the Stream Settings

Under Stream Settings, locate:

Stream URL: This is YouTube’s RTMP server address (e.g., rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2).

Stream Key: Click the eye icon to reveal your unique Stream Key (a mix of letters and numbers). Copy this key.

2. Combine the URL and Key

To configure AnyCamera, combine the Stream URL and Stream Key into a single RTMP address:

Replace STREAM_KEY with the actual key you copied.

Step 4: Configure AnyCamera for YouTube Live

1. Open AnyCamera

Launch the AnyCamera app and open RTMP Streamer module.

2. Enter the RTMP Address

• Click lower right gear button to open the streaming settings.

• Click the "RTMP Streaming URL" edit button, and paste the combined RTMP address (e.g., rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2/abcd1234xyz) into the popup input view, and Click the green check button to save.

And you’re ready to go live!

Tips for Streaming with AnyCamera

Keep Your Stream Key Secure: Never share your Stream Key, as it allows anyone to stream to your channel.

Use Persistent Stream Key: If you frequently stream to YouTube, enable the Persistent Stream Key option in YouTube Studio to reuse the same RTMP address.

Optimize Stream Quality: Adjust video resolution and bitrate in AnyCamera settings to match YouTube’s recommended specs for stable streaming.
